Poiema (pronounced poy-ay-ma) from the Greek word meaning ‘handiwork’ found in Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s workmanship (poiema), created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Our mission is to provide support to students of the Nest Hockey Academy and help students achieve more in the classroom, on the ice and in life by providing training tools, learning structures and financial assistance that promote the most positive outcome for students.
Poiema is a non-profit foundation whose sole purpose is creating opportunity for youth hockey players to attend the Nest Hockey Academy where they can focus on their academic studies, as well as their hockey skill set, while being surrounded by a culture based in biblical principles. The expenses for qualified coaching, onsite educational oversight, Academic program and the general hockey costs, tuition costs for students for the school year 2022-2023 (180 day calendar) are upwards of $20,000-25,000 each, depending on age group and needs. For these students to excel in the classroom, on the ice and in life, we also help provide them with the best training aids available, not traditionally found in the classroom or online learning environment. Our hope is to have a hand in creating good hockey players, and GREAT people!
